“We are here to help Valencia”

Regional President Isabel Díaz Ayuso does not want to enter into any controversy regarding the management of the Valencia disaster caused by DANA. One more day, faced with questions on this subject, the head of the Madrid executive stepped up to the wall to make it clear that she does not want to wage this war. And this Friday he asked “political activism not to involve Madrid in a conflict” regarding DANA: “We are here to help Valencia overcome the worst moment in its recent history.”

This is not the first time that she has done this: in recent days, on two occasions, she has been publicly questioned by journalists on this subject, without a single word having come out of her mouth on this subject other than reporting on aid. . which are sent by the Community of Madrid and to express their willingness to continue collaborating in whatever is necessary. He even became emotional when speaking about the situation in Valencia and expressed concern about whether Madrid was doing everything possible to lend a hand to the Valencian Community and the rest of the regions affected by the rising waters.

This Friday, he did it again, during his visit to the facilities of the German pharmaceutical group Merck. We could hear Díaz Ayuso emphasize that those he defines as “political activists” “have been trying to involve Ayuso-Valencia, Madrid-Valencia for a week and a half”. “That seems insane to me.”

In this regard, he added that “this controversy or the differences over what is being done or not, it seems to me that at the moment they only lead to despair.” This is why we are not going to tarnish the work carried out by the different administrations, the Community of Madrid and far beyond, the volunteers and companies who give everything to help our compatriots in Valencia with their hearts. .

He recalled that “Madrid is turning its attention impressively. “It seems exciting to me and I believe that the State, the autonomy, the Nation and above all the Spanish people, are there to help Valencia overcome the worst moment in its recent history.” It is for this reason, he insisted, that he asks activism “to forget us”.

Today, the members of a third device made up of 39 firefighters, four professionals from SUMMA 112, left Madrid for Valencia, who will relieve those who were already there. And a team of forestry brigades will be mobilized with 39 professionals and 13 vehicles, including heavy and light forestry pumps, light vehicles, vans, a truck and trailers. “They will dedicate themselves above all to washing and cleaning the streets of the towns affected by the floods, images which upset us all very much.”

So far, 292 professionals have been mobilized in the Community of Madrid, including firefighters, rescuers, forensic doctors, psychologists, health, emergency and support professionals, “not counting the volume of solidarity of so many people who voluntarily go to Valencia every year. day,” he said. “We also focus on these rescue and search tasks, in collaboration with other town halls, for example Madrid or Alcobendas.”

In this sense, he recalled that “there is also a contingent of 17 vehicles, notably equipped with cranes, and 69 professionals to help with the removal of vehicles through the Madrid Regional Transport Consortium”. “The Community has already sent the first 20 buses with 50 drivers who will provide an alternative service to Metrovalencia.”
