The Civil Guard seized more than 650 kilos of ecstasy, ketamine, cocaine and coughin what was the largest cache of synthetic drugs in recent years with nine arrested in Ibiza and one in Malaga. As reported by Benemérita, as part of the so-called Operation Adriatic, an international organization dedicated to the smuggling of drugs to the island of Pitiusan was dismantled.
Among the stash, more than a million ecstasy pills were seized. During the operation, eight house searches were carried out in Ibiza and two in Malaga.
This is an anti-drug operation carried out by the Civil Guard in the last three days. The so-called Adriatic operation is not yet completely closed and the Civil Guard does not rule out new arrests.
Among the drugs seized were 350 kilos of ecstasy pills, more than a million pills in total, or 1,071,000. In addition, there were approximately 67 kilos of MDMA, 200 of ketamine, 21 of tusi or pink cocaine and 18 of cocaine.
The operation began on Thursday with eight home records and vehicles in different municipalities of the island of Ibiza and two in the province of Malaga. Nine people were arrested, eight in Ibiza and one in Malaga, the Armed Institute points out in its note.
The investigation began months ago in Torremolinos and the operation was carried out in the cities of Malaga, Mallorca and Ibiza, where the organization was decapitated.
Operation Adriatic is led by the Instruction Court number 3 of Palma supported by the Instruction Court number 1 of Ibiza. The eight detainees on the island appeared before the Ibiza court on Saturday. The magistrate sent six of them to prison without bail, four of Italian nationality, one Dutch and one German.
