Judge asks Supreme Court to charge Alvise with disorderly conduct for his actions at Ferraz protest

The Court of Instruction number 13 of Madrid asked the Supreme Court to indict the agitator Alvise Pérez.

As he is a Member of the European Parliament, only the High Court can investigate him and summon him to testify in this capacity. And Luis Pérez, which is his real name, was denounced by the police for a alleged offense of disturbing public orderbecause he was at the head of a column of demonstrators who came, at the beginning of November 2023, to demonstrate in front of the national headquarters of the PSOE, located on rue Ferraz in Madrid.

This happened on one of the first days of the protests, which continued over the following days. And in mid-November last year, the General Information Commission of the National Police reported Alvise for a possible offense of disturbing public order.

In a resolution dated last September, Judge Hermenegildo Alfredo Barrera explains to the Supreme Court that, since Pérez is certified, he cannot summon him to testify as an investigator. In fact, only the Second Chamber (Criminal Chamber) of the Supreme Court can do so, as is the case, for example, with the President of the Government, ministers and deputies of Congress, who enjoy the same level of power.

Ferraz’s protests intensified when the agreement between the PSOE and the Catalan separatists for the approval of the Amnesty lawwhich would benefit the leaders who had committed crimes in favor of the independence of Catalonia.

A few days after the march led by Alvise, police arrested dozens of demonstrators around the national headquarters of the Socialist Party, during the riots that took place those days.
