Israeli warplanes attacked several military positions in central Syria from northwestern Lebanon and air defense forces shot down several missiles, the Syrian Defense Ministry said in a statement to Syrian news agency SANA.
“At approximately 20:23 on 09/08/2024, the Israeli enemy launched an air attack from northwestern Lebanon, attacking several military targets in the central region. Our air defense systems intercepted the attacker’s missiles and some of them fell. As a result of the attack, three people were killed and fifteen were injured, in addition to material damage,” – the message notes.
Earlier, the agency reported that an attack on targets in central Syria had been repelled. Director of Misyaf hospital Faisal Haider He said the number of victims of the attack had risen to four and the wounded were still arriving.
