Route along the Guadaíra River
In the surroundings of Alcalá de Guadaíra, a few kilometers from Seville, there is one of the most accessible hiking routes for those looking to disconnect from routine without having to undertake long walks. The route, with a length of 5 and a half kilometers and a duration of less than 2 hours, combines the serenity of the Guadaíra River with the freshness of the pine forests, an ideal space both for hiking enthusiasts and those who just want to spend time outdoors.
This trail, of low difficulty and suitable for the whole family, begins in the center of Alcalá de Guadaíra and follows the course of the river, crossing a natural environment full of native vegetation. The route is characterized by its gentleness, allowing hikers to enjoy a comfortable walk that takes place mainly on dirt roads and well-marked trails.
One of the main attractions of this circuit is that on December 30, 2011 it was declared a national monument by the Governing Council of the Junta de Andalucía for its natural and ecocultural values.
Route through Tamarguillo Park
Located in the eastern area of Seville, the park offers 97 hectares of green spaces for contact with nature. With a vast network of trails and numerous recreational spaces, this neighborhood has become a benchmark enclave for walkers, athletes and families.
The park route includes a ring circuit of approximately 6 kilometers, which can be completed in approximately 2 hours, ideal for those looking for a long walk. In addition, several interior trails allow you to explore the different areas of the park. The entire park route covers a distance of 9.87 kilometers, making it perfect for both leisure and outdoor sports.
Among its main attractions, the space has two streams, the Tamarguillo and the Ranilla, whose presence of water varies depending on the season and rainfall. In addition, an artificial canal and a lagoon surrounded by vegetation are home to many species of waterfowl.
Hueznar Waterfalls
The circular route, 7 kilometers long and lasting three hours of walking, which crosses the Huéznar waterfalls, is one of the most remarkable natural routes in the province of Seville. The route allows visitors to enjoy the landscapes of the Huéznar River and its natural environment, including views of the waterfalls and the different points of interest of the city.
To begin the route, you must go to the parking lot of the recreational area at the source of the Huéznar, where hikers take a path next to the stream that quickly joins the Greenway of the Sierra Norte. From there, the route continues north, and before crossing a tunnel, walkers must take a side road located next to a small ruin. Further on, the path gives way to a path that passes between the fence and the bank of the Huéznar, which allows the visitor to advance along the riverbed to the area of the waterfalls.
Upon reaching this area, hikers can get closer to the water and enjoy the view of the small falls that form the river bed in this part. Crossing the stream we arrive at the Martinete recreational area, from where a marked path, that is, a route marked with paint and/or vertical signs, allows you to go up to the opposite side and Access a viewpoint with panoramic views of the waterfalls.
