At least Five people died and 19 others were injured in a series of Israeli missile attacks on several areas in central SyriaOfficial Syrian sources reported this on Sunday.
THE new attacks, the strongest in monthsoccurred “around 23:20 local time (Sunday 20:20 GMT) from northwest Lebanon,” a military source said, according to the official Syrian news agency SANA.
They said that “the anti-aircraft defenses intercepted the missiles of the aggression and they overthrew some of them“, and that “five people were martyred and 19 others were injured, some seriously.”
Official Syrian sources explained that most of the victims are in the city of Masyafon the outskirts of Hama.
“The Israeli aggression also caused damage to the main road of Masyaf And Wadi Al Oyounand a fire broke out in the area of Hayr Abbaswhich the firefighters are trying to control,” they added.
They also added that the governor of Hama, Maan Abboudvisited the wounded at Masyaf National Hospital and “ordered the mobilization of emergency, medical and nursing personnel and equipment to provide them with the necessary medical services.”
For its part, the London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said in its X account that the Israeli attacks ““These are the most violent in years” and they targeted six positions in central Syria believed to belong to pro-Iranian militias.
