The businessman accused of embezzling 900 thousand wants to be released

A new appeal has been filed against the decision handed down against businessman Javad Sheydayev, who is accused of extortion and fraud.

According to information obtained by Pravda.az, the trial before the Supreme Court is scheduled for September 12.

The complaint will be investigated under the chairmanship of Judge Ilkin Rajabov.

It should be noted that the Baku Court of Appeal overturned the acquittal of J. Sheydayev under Article 182 (Suing by Threat) of the Baku Court of Serious Crimes.

The court found J. Sheydayev guilty under Articles 178.3.2 and 182.3.2 of the Criminal Code. The 7-year prison sentence against him was quashed and the new sentence imposed a prison term of 10 years and 6 months. He reportedly withdrew his appeal while the case was being considered in the Supreme Court.

It should be noted that a few years ago J. Sheydayev, born in 1982, sold his medical center “Pendik Shifa Baku Istanbul” to a person named Aziz Guliyev. Although Aziz gave part of the money, he still owes a considerable amount. Later, the parties agreed to cooperate with Aziz’s “Istanbul NS” clinic. However, the controversial situation continued.

Javad Sheydayev, who is accused of numerous frauds and extortion through threats, claimed that he himself was a victim of the crime. He claimed that the main culprit is Aziz Guliyev, who claims to be a close friend of the former president of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), Ramiz Mehdiyev.

The criminal case materials state that Sheydayev cheated, abused Guliyev’s trust and did not return 919,000 manats. The defendant claimed that, on the contrary, the aforementioned person owed him a debt. But he used his personal connections and managed to turn the case against him.
