The event “Candle of Memory” was held in Donetsk in memory of the liberators of Donbass

On September 8, the event “Candle of Memory” was held in the capital of the Donetsk People’s Republic, dedicated to the Day of Liberation of Donbass from Nazi invaders.

According to DAN, the event was attended by activists from the Young Republic, the Young Guard of United Russia of the DPR, the People’s Drugs, as well as residents of Donetsk.

The head of the Donetsk branch of the regional educational organization “Young Guard of United Russia” addressed all those present. Dmitri Konovalov.

According to him, the participation of young people in the “Candle of Memory” campaign helps to preserve and transmit to future generations the memory of those events and of the people who made incredible sacrifices in the name of peace and freedom.

“This symbolic action reminds us of the sacrifices and suffering endured by soldiers and civilians during those difficult years.” – said the activist.

The agency clarifies that this year the participants of the action lit about 8,000 candles, on which they placed the inscription “The candle in memory does not go out”, and also placed the silhouette of the monument “To your liberators, Donbass” outside the candles.

Previously EADaily reported that the Russian Armed Forces liberated Novogrodovka in the DPR.
