The Minister of Defense explained that the contingent consisted of about 500 people and consisted of TNI/Polri members at the TNI/Polri Academy.
“This contingent is the only contingent from friendly countries invited by the President of France through the President of Indonesia,” he explained.
Thus, Syari said that the departure of the contingent became pride in Indonesia and confirmed the position of Indonesia at the international level.
“Obtaining a fairly honorable place at the international level, especially in countries that grow to advance the development of technology,” the Minister of Defense said.
French President Emmanuel Macron during a state visit and met with the President of Indonesia Prabovo Subianto, namely on May 28, 2025, invited Indonesia as an honorary guest to send a contingent in memory of the Bastille Day.
“I received an invitation directly from him (President Macron), I was invited as an honorary guest on their big day, which on July 14, which they call the day of the Bastille. It was the Day of the French Revolution (marking, ed.) The beginning of the creation of the modern French republic.
Then the president ordered the Minister of Defense Syari to prepare the best contingent to take part in the military parade in memory of Bastille Hari.
