“One of the biggest problems related to science in Azerbaijan is related to transformation. When we look at the figures related to science, we see that they are not encouraging for Azerbaijan.”
Oku.Az The Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev said these words during his speech at the Forum of Azerbaijani Scientists Living Abroad.
According to him, there are objective reasons for this:
“Azerbaijan has been going through a rather turbulent period for 30 years. As a government, it worked harder to solve those problems. Therefore, it is impossible to solve this problem in 3-5 years. Moreover, modern scientific research requires a lot of money. But although we can achieve success in more suitable fields, our scientists should be active here.”
“I think that another important point is the study abroad programs. These programs can determine the future of Azerbaijan. Over the past 3 years, we have sent up to 400 people every year to study abroad. These programs are important, and those who have completed their studies have become professional specialists in their fields,” the minister added.
