Putin’s troops fired 539 drones and eleven missiles in Ukrainian cities on Friday evening – according to Ukrainian information, the largest attack of drones since the beginning of the war. The bombardment for Putin, in the true sense: the Russian ring execution, the war can continue – in the West. It is a pity that the EU still has no sanctions on Russian LNG. If this is serious for the federal government with its solidarity, it should act. Others, such as the United States or Great Britain, have long done it.
Much remains indecisive, slowly with military support. If people in Charkiw, Kyiw, Odesa and Dnipro should look for protection every night, there may be too many to explain to them why we should do this with Taurus again. And German production of weapons? Sounds like progress. But now it does not help. Germany is too late again. But with a clear conscience.
No impulse that helps Ukraine now
Last week, a new Armor program was identified. An important signal. The European armies neglected for decades, as the Bundeswehr state shows. But: while Europe fills its camps and plans to produce production lines, President Voilodimir Seleensky left empty hands. There is no new prospect of joining NATO. No impulse that now helps Ukraine.
One could say “yes”: let’s first equip those that are currently dealing with an imperial attack. Then we see how many ammunition remains for us. Or we do both at the same time.
Now that the United States continues to leave the support of Ukraine, responsibility for Europe and especially Germany is growing. Chancellor Friedrich Merz is now lying to convince partners of the delivery of defense systems. Ukraine needs at least a chance to protect itself in the air. To save life.
Attention to war disappears. I understand the alienation from the discussion about Umpteen on the delivery of weapons, as well as the fatigue of the news. But the Ukrainians themselves are very tired. They would like to sleep again, carefree. Without despair, fear of death.
A friend begins almost every morning with a question to her cousin in Harkiva: are you still living? I often wonder how they both withstand this intolerance.
