The negotiations continued right in front of the third trip of the Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu to Washington, as US President Donald Trump returned to spend it almost six months ago.

Before leaving for the United States, Netanyahu said that clear instructions were given to the Israeli negotiators. “The Israeli negotiator, who took part in the negotiations to stop the fire, had clear instructions to reach the agreement on the end of fire with the conditions that were received by Israel,” he said.

On Sunday (6/7), Netanyahu said that he hopes that his meeting with President Trump would help encourage negotiations on the ceasefire in the future.

“I am sure that the discussion with President Trump, of course, can help promote these results,” Netanyahu said. He added that one of the main goals was to ensure the release of hostages detained by Hamas, and eliminate the threat of the group for Israel.

When the internal pressure increased to reach the ceasefire and put an end to the battle in Gaza, Netanyahu ran into units in his own government. While some members of his right -wing coalition opposed the ceasefire, others, including Foreign Minister Gideon Saar, provided support.

Last week, Hamas said that they reacted to the “positive spirit” to the proposed ceasefire supported by the United States. This follows Trump’s statement that Israel agreed with the necessary requirements to resolve the ceasefire within 60 days.
