Armenian Foreign Ministry: Third-party control over Azerbaijan-Nakhchivan highway is unacceptable

“Armenia excludes third-party control on the highway between Azerbaijan and Nakhchivan in Zangezur.”

Oku.AzThese words were spoken by Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, according to Armenian media reports.

“There is no discussion about creating the corridor and transferring control over it to a third party,” he said.

According to Mirzoian, both sides are discussing the option of involving private companies to solve problems related to the safety of citizens. In theory, they can accompany freight or passenger vehicles.

“In the event of a blockage of transport communications, the existence of a state-owned or private company owned by third parties along the entire railway line is unacceptable to us,” he said.
