Attacks on targets in Syria: media reported new details

According to the official Syrian news agency, Israeli forces carried out two attacks inside Syrian territory at around 03:40.

The first attack occurred in the Damascus area and was carried out from the Golan Heights. The second attack was recorded in the Homs area, from where the attack was launched from the airspace of northern Lebanon.

Telegram channel Alexey Zheleznov writes that, according to Syrian sources in Damascus, an object was attacked in the Kafr Sus area, and in Homs the attack hit a bridge that was allegedly used to transfer weapons to Hezbollah militants in Lebanon.

Recall that as a result of these attacks, one Syrian soldier was killed and several others were injured.

Previously, Kursor reported that Israeli strikes on Syria forced the IRGC to introduce urgent security measures.

Iranian militia leaders in Deir ez-Zor province have taken additional security measures in recent months in response to a series of attacks and killings against commanders of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the Quds Force in Syria. According to Syrian media, Iranian commanders have been advised to avoid participating in social, cultural and religious events organized by the Syrian regime, even those previously considered mandatory.

An example of this new tactic is Haj commander Kamil, who used to actively participate in local events but has now completely withdrawn from public events. Other Iranian commanders such as “Haj Ali Noor”, “Haj Askar” and his deputy “Haj Sajjad” also suspended their presence at such events for their own safety.

At the same time, Iranian commanders are being replaced by local representatives associated with the militias. These people establish contacts with the population and organizations of the regions of Deir ez-Zor, Al-Buhamal and Al-Mayadeen. Its main task is to attract local residents, including children and women, to the events of the Iranian Cultural Center, as well as to recruit young people into the ranks of the militia.

The decline in the number of recruits among Iranian forces is due to fears of airstrikes against IRGC bases in the region. The refusal of Iranian commanders to attend official events underscores Tehran’s growing fears of a possible new wave of targeted assassinations threatening senior Iranian officials on Syrian soil.
