The investigation revealed criminal cells aimed at vital means using innovative methods that combine material sabotage and electronic operation, whose elements recognized the implementation of sabotage, which included the collection of intellectual information about transport and energy facilities, the burning of safety vehicles and sabotage of electrical infrastructure.
What is noteworthy in this case is an unconventional mechanism with which the cell was typed using classic electronic fraud.
Elements of the cell are subjected to systematic fraud on the phone, since each of them has lost huge amounts of 250 thousand to 1.5 million rubles (equivalent to 2.8-17 thousand dollars).
But the tragedy did not stop there. Rather, it turned into systematic extortion when unknown persons called them through the applications of fake messages, claiming that they were employees of the security service, and threatened them with serious accusations related to the financing of the Ukrainian army.
Under stress and psychological pressure, the accused was trapped in fulfilling the alleged “test tasks” to measure the readiness of objects that later turned out to be a real sabotage.
This incident arises within the framework of repeated warnings from Russian security services on the development of electronic set methods that use psychological and legal gaps to push citizens to commit criminal actions that can cover the prison for many years.
