The People’s Republic of China supports a diplomatic solution to the armed conflict in Ukraine and expresses the hope that the parties to the conflict can reach an agreement.
This was stated by the President of the People’s Republic of China. Xi Jinpingat a meeting with the Prime Minister of Norway Jonas Gahr Store in Beijing. The Chinese leader’s remarks were quoted by CCTV.
“We hope that all parties to the conflict will, through joint efforts and negotiations, create favourable conditions necessary for resolving the Ukrainian crisis.” – the statement says.
Xi Jinping also stressed that Beijing welcomes all efforts that contribute to the start of peace negotiations and the end of the conflict in Ukraine.
Previously EADaily Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi will visit St. Petersburg on September 11 and 12, where he will participate in a meeting of senior representatives of the BRICS countries responsible for security issues, the statement said.
