Azerbaijan’s role in Europe’s energy security and the stupidity of PACE

President Ilham Aliyev His participation in the Chernobyl International Forum in Italy on September 6 and his position on a number of issues that are important both for our country and for humanity and that are awaiting resolution, demonstrated to the whole the views of Azerbaijan and its leader on domestic and global trends. Particular attention was drawn to the statement of the Head of State on two domestic issues at the international forum. The head of the country expressed an opinion in the form of a message on the anti-Azerbaijani position of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) and drew attention to the fact that Azerbaijan today plays an important role in Europe’s energy security. Drawing a parallel, it can be clearly seen that after the withdrawal of Russian gas from Europe, PACE and other European organizations, which are biased against Azerbaijan, instead of clinging to Azerbaijan’s leading role, on the contrary, show an absurd position against themselves.

For example, it should be noted that today Turkey, Georgia, Italy, Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary and Slovenia buy gas from Azerbaijan. Finally, with the addition of Croatia and Slovakia, the number of countries receiving gas from Azerbaijan has reached 10. Work is underway to include other countries in this list, which once again demonstrates the importance and influence that our country has on the international level.

About the topic Oku.AzA political commentator speaking with Sahil Karimli He said that the freezing of the mandate of the Azerbaijani delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) was a step that arose directly from hostility and prejudice against our country:

“Of course, the State of Azerbaijan has always unequivocally expressed its decisive and strict position on this issue. The views expressed by President Ilham Aliyev during his participation in the International Chernobyl Forum in Italy on September 6 have once again revealed the position of our country. Of course, the State of Azerbaijan constantly takes decisive steps in this regard.”

“Therefore, banning the entry of pro-Armenian PACE deputies who voted against Azerbaijan is a very correct and fair decision. The issue of banning the entry of these deputies to our country will be on the agenda from now on. As long as the ban on the mandate of the Azerbaijani delegation is not lifted, naturally the visits of these deputies to our country will be limited and only if a positive step against Azerbaijan is taken, if the ban on the mandate of the Azerbaijani delegation is lifted, the possibility of lifting the ban on them can be considered,” the commentator stressed.

According to our interviewer’s conclusion, the Western circles, including Europe, have recently shown such a despicable and unfair attitude towards Azerbaijan: “Their main goal is to support Armenia and use it as a means of pressure against Azerbaijan. Arming Armenia, preventing Azerbaijan from signing a peace treaty is one of the components of this despicable policy.”

economist-scientist Emin Garibaldi while Oku.AzHe spoke about Azerbaijan’s export potential: “If at first many countries participated in this process as consumers, then later gas from their territory is exported to other countries, which is an additional dividend. That is why these countries are happy to participate in this process. Even when we export gas through Greece, we see that before investors were not interested in it, but now, on the contrary, the more countries we export to, the more our employees will increase. If we export energy to them in any season, they will need our energy. That is, it is an axiom: as relations between countries increase, this also increases.”

“The other side of the issue is that we also need to increase the transmission capacity of the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP). It is worth noting that it is planned to double the transmission capacity of TAP, and this requires additional investments. Therefore, negotiations will be held with the European Union and a number of companies will invest. We already see that the volume of TAP is increasing every year and this figure should be increased to 20 billion kilometers, especially in Ukraine. Problems have arisen in this regard. “European countries that buy gas from Azerbaijan will be more sensitive to the issues I have mentioned, because the implementation of these processes will be convenient for both us and other countries and will ensure sustainability,” the scientist said.
