Environment Minister Tourach Taraaba said that Slovakia will not support the European Commission’s proposal (EC) to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 90 % by 2040. This day, July 7 was announced.

“This ideological sentence is another evidence that Brussels Berukatrats have already lost a basic connection to reality. Either they do not imagine what the economic threat to the European industry, unfortunately, the Slovak industry, or is completely stolen,” He said.

Taraaba recalled that at a government meeting, the main automotive actors have identified the three main areas that destroy its competitiveness. According to the minister, these strict emissions that no one notice outside the European Union (EU), which will increase production, the high prices of energy companies and the lack of garbage factories.

“Brussels and the Slovak opposition on various aspects of the barricades on all points. They want to increase energy prices with the help of sanctions, weaken industry, insist on tightening emissions standards, attacking every building of a garbage engineering station, as they say the industry – do not produce anything here, and move to other countries,” – The minister said.

I remember that the European Union set a goal to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. At the same time, EC advanced 90 % reducing emissions by 2040 compared to 1990. However, some countries, such as the Czech Republic or Italy, are not considered realistic.
