The Ukrainian army’s offensive in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation took the Kremlin by surprise and forced Moscow to redeploy its troops.

Putin’s entourage tacitly admits that the Ukrainian troops’ offensive was a blow to the dictator and, naturally, was perceived as a humiliation. Now the Russian Federation is desperately trying to save the situation, and that is why the Russian military leadership is transferring units from the Zaporozhye region of Ukraine in connection with the operation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk region.
ISW refers to posts by Russian military personnel on social media. At the same time, according to the ISW report, Russia is trying not to weaken the main direction of attack in the Donetsk region, in particular the Pokrovsky direction.
As you know, in early August, Ukrainian forces began offensive operations in the Kursk region. It is already known that Ukrainian soldiers liberated more than 90 Russian settlements. It is known that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have already captured several thousand Russian servicemen, most of them conscripts and the so-called “Kadyrovites”. A military commandant’s office has been established on the territory controlled by the defenders of Ukraine.
Recall that Kursor previously reported that the operation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kursk region and the forced evacuation of thousands of Russians could become a serious challenge to Vladimir Putin’s power.
