Fate of new electric taxis brought to Baku has been announced

“Electric taxis newly brought to Baku will initially transport participants to the COP29 event.”

Oku.Az According to reports, this was stated by Tural Orujov, press secretary of the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency (AYNA), within the framework of the mediation organized today for journalists.

According to him, the “LEVC TX5” brand “plug-in” hybrid taxis are of the British type and are manufactured in China.

The charging time of these vehicles according to the “Euro-6” standard is 30 minutes. It has the capacity to travel 130 kilometers with the electric motor alone, and 600 kilometers with the gasoline generator connected.

The vehicle is also equipped with modern safety systems, such as emergency braking, tire pressure monitoring and traffic sign recognition.

I would also like to highlight one issue: apart from the lanes and buses specially allocated for COP29, only these taxis will be able to use them during the event. This does not apply to other taxis,” said T. Orucov.
