Ambroise de Rancourt, new chief of staff for Marine Le Pen of the left-wing sovereignty movement

Ambroise de Rancourt, a classical pianist trained at the Paris Conservatoire, likes to play across the spectrum. A former voter and activist disappointed with Jean-Luc Mélenchon, close to sovereignist circles, who revolved for a time around the Republican Spring, this 37-year-old man, recently graduated from the National School of Administration (ENA, Aimé-Césaire class, 2020-2021) will become 1Ahem November Chief of Staff of Marine Le Pen.

As announced The FigaroThe president of the National Rally (RN) group in the National Assembly has chosen this official from the Ministry of the Armed Forces, with a short career in concerts, to reinforce her close guard – and to fill a vacant post. A similar profile, whose name has not yet been decided, is expected to arrive at the same post alongside Jordan Bardella, whose entourage is considered, internally, too light, despite the fact that the president of the RN was running for the post of prime minister in June.

In his three-year post at the Ministry of the Armed Forces, Ambroise de Rancourt met Marine Le Pen during the Covid-19 crisis in 2021. The two were contacted by former pollster Jérôme Sainte-Marie. “I think this is one of the most important services I have been able to provide to Marine Le Pen.” said the man who was a candidate for the first time under the Le Pen colours in the last legislative elections.

Since then, Ambroise de Rancourt, an enarque, has been providing notes to the MP for the Pas-de-Calais Parliament. Originally from Versailles, he also knows Renaud Labaye, Marine Le Pen’s right-hand man in the Assembly, and François Durvye, one of her closest advisers and the first collaborator of the conservative billionaire Pierre-Edouard Stérin. His sovereignist ideas are also highly appreciated by Jean-Philippe Tanguy, an RN (Somme) MP close to Marine Le Pen.

Determined against Islamism but not suspected of Islamophobia

The Internet has preserved the traces of his first political loves, before joining the ENA as an independent candidate on his second attempt: an open letter from a disappointed voter to Jean-Luc Mélenchon in October 2017, published on the blog of the Eurosceptic left wing activist Coralie Delaume, who died in 2020; articles on the sites of the sovereignist, anti-liberal and pro-Russian camp, by the former lawyer Régis de Castelnau or the blogger Olivier Berruyer (founder of the site Les-crises). Ambroise de Rancourt develops a way of thinking hostile to the European Union, to liberalism or even to capitalism, a way of thinking resolutely on Islamism but not suspected of Islamophobia, alien to a division between left and right.
