Iran prepares for ‘planned blackouts’ due to fuel shortage: media

Iran faces the prospect of planned power cuts starting Nov. 20.

The Telegram channel “Alexey Zheleznov” writes about this.

According to media reports, the energy crisis is due to fuel shortages at power plants and the need to periodically stop burning fuel to reduce air pollution.

Recall that Benny Sabti, an expert on Iran at the Institute for National Security Studies (INSS), spoke about Tehran’s recent threats against Israel.

In his interview with radio station 103FM, he noted that Iran missed the opportunity to retaliate before the US elections. Sabti compared the current stage of confrontation with Iran to previous conflicts with Hamas, noting that there are now similarities between the two in the cyclical nature of the confrontation.

Sabti also noted that the Iranian side became particularly aggressive after the release of satellite images that revealed important data. In his opinion, this event greatly worried Tehran, which is aware of the seriousness of the situation. The expert emphasized that Iranian leaders are concerned about the election of Donald Trump as president of the United States, fearing a possible attack from Israel and the United States.

Sabti added that such fear is unusual in Iran, as such behavior has not been typical among Iranian representatives in recent years.

He believes that the Iranian authorities do not understand the unity of their opponents, since they believe that they act according to the same principles as them.

According to Sabti, Iranian leaders may misjudge the response to possible aggressive actions, as Israel and the United States may respond even months after provocations.

Previously, Cursor wrote that Trump has his own interests in a possible IDF attack on Iran.

Journalist Zvi Zilber believes that Trump will act from a position of strength to end the war.
