A Toronto court in Canada has sentenced 83-year-old fashion designer Peter Newgard to 11 years in prison for sexual assault.

It should be noted that, given the time he has already spent in prison, Newgard will be released shortly before the seventh year.
The jury found him guilty in the fall of 2023. Prosecutors wanted him sentenced to 15 years in prison.
The fashion designer was arrested in Winnipeg, Manitoba, at the request of the United States in mid-December 2020. He has been charged with rape, human trafficking and extortion in the United States, Canada and the Bahamas. 57 women went to court on behalf of the man. Some of the crimes occurred as early as 1977, when the two women were 14 years old.
In addition, a separate lawsuit was filed by the billionaire’s two sons, who claimed they were raped by a woman they met when they were teenagers, on the direct orders of their father.
