The European Commission’s main objective for 2025 is to reduce emissions during the manufacturing of combustion cars. The regulation, called CAFE (Clean Air for Europe), which will establish a new limit on carbon emissions.
It has been established that maximum CO₂ emissions They cannot exceed 95 grams per kilometer. We are talking about a very significant drop compared to the tolerance that existed last year, which amounted to 106.6 g/km.
What happens when manufacturers don’t comply?
The rule says that he will be punished with fairly large fines. The Association of European Automobile Manufacturers, ACEA, estimates that these sanctions will result in thirteen billion euros for passenger cars and around 3 billion for vans.
