This air conditioning plan launched by the government chaired by Emiliano García-Page was one of the issues of interest that the mayors, councilors and socialist activists of the Torrijos region raised during the regional meeting that the provincial executive of the PSOE of Toledo was held in the city of Barcience and also brought together provincial delegates from the ministries of the Government of Castile-La Mancha.
José Gutiérrez gave details of this initiative which “is new, it is developed only by Castilla-La Mancha, and It has a budget of 50 million euros that will allow it to reach all public schools in the province of Toledo and the rest of the region.
A significant financial allocation that will be distributed in the next three courses in three calls, the first is the one currently open for the current course, the second will open in March next year for the 2025-2026 course, and the third in 2026 for the academic year 2026-2027, with an amount of 16.6 million euros in each of them three calls.
The plan is financed by European ERDF funds and in each project to improve the air conditioning of centers, the regional government will contribute 85% of the budget and the municipalities the remaining 15%.
Work that town halls can carry out at the centers includes installing hot and cold air conditioning units as well as solar panels. In addition, funding is included for the renewal of electrical installations in centers that require their complete replacement or the adaptation and improvement of existing ones.
At the regional meeting in Barcience, which began with a minute of silence for the victims of DANA, the provincial secretary general was accompanied by the mayor of the city, Víctor López, and the president, deputy secretary general and secretary of the ‘Organization of the PSOE of the province of Toledo, Tita García Élez, Esther Padilla and Félix Ortega, respectively, continuing the territorial work meetings that the Provincial Executive maintains with the socialist activism of Toledo.
