French Industry Minister Marc Ferracchi did not rule out more factories being closed in the country due to increased competition with Chinese and American companies.
Oku.Az Reports that the minister spoke about this on the radio “France Inter”.
“There are companies that are facing difficulties. In the coming weeks or months, new announcements regarding the closure of production facilities cannot be ruled out. This could affect thousands of workers,” said the minister.
According to him, in France it is difficult to compete with American and Chinese manufacturers in the chemical industry, metallurgy and mechanical engineering.
“This competition is not always fair, because China and the United States actively subsidize these industries,” the French minister stressed.
Ferrakçi highlighted that the authorities are preparing measures to support the European automobile industry, which will be presented to the European Commission in the future.
It should be noted that on November 5, the French tire manufacturer “Michelin” announced the closure of two factories in western France where 1,254 people work.
