Donald Trump, who won the US presidential election, has formed a committee for the upcoming inauguration ceremony, which will be led by the Republican’s former supporters, investor Steve Witkoff and Senator Kelly Loeffler, his headquarters said.
“President Donald Trump, the 45th and 47th president of the United States, today announced the formation of the Inaugural Committee, an organization that will plan the inaugural events.” – says the issued statement.
It should be noted that Witkoff and Loeffler will become co-chairs as long-time friends and supporters of Trump.
Donald Trump, who had already been president of the United States since the 2016 election, won the presidential election on November 5. He became the first American politician since the 19th century to return to the White House after a four-year hiatus.
The states’ Electoral College is scheduled to vote on candidates based on the will of voters on December 17, and the new Congress will certify the results on January 6. The inauguration will take place on January 20.
