“Sanchez must present a motion of confidence and clarify whether or not he will govern with the legislative power”

The Executive President and Director of EL ESPAÑOL, Pedro J. Ramirezparticipated this Tuesday in the Telecinco program meeting The critical look analyze the current political situation, marked by the arrival of Edmundo González in Spain and the General State budgets.

Pedro J. Ramírez considers that Pedro Sánchez “We cannot govern without the legislative power” After this weekend, during the Federal Committee, he assured that there was a long government and that he would govern “with or without the support” of Parliament.

“Without legislative power, there is no legislative body” The director of EL ESPAÑOL clarified this, stressing that “it is the only power from which the legitimacy of the Government emanates”, which can only be “overthrown” by a motion of censure.

For this reason, Pedro J. Ramirez considers that Sánchez has the “obligation” to present a “motion of confidence” before Parliament as the only way to “show us if he has the support of the legislative branch” beyond the general budgets, for which, for the moment, he does not have sufficient support to approve them.

“So that we can know if what he calls the progressive majority still exists or not“, he declared to insist on the “inexcusable” need for a motion of confidence that the President of the Government must present “immediately”. “He must clarify whether he is going to govern with Parliament or whether he is going to do the metaphysically impossible in a democracy of governing without it,” he added.

Edmundo Gonzalez

Regarding the arrival of Edmundo González to benefit from political asylum, Pedro J. believes that “the debate” is whether it is a “humanitarian success “have rescued the leader of the Venezuelan opposition from the clutches of the dictatorship” or if the government “has done Nicolas Maduro a favor, an uncomfortable character.

“The important thing is not how it begins, but how it ends,” he stressed, emphasizing that “the only thing that matters” is who takes office as president of Venezuela on January 10.

“If it is Maduro, all this will be a failure and a catastrophe for the EU, for Western democracies and for Spain,” predicted the Executive President and Director of EL ESPAÑOL.

For Pedro J. Ramirez, Spain “has a moral responsibility” in dealing with this issue and considers that it should lead the recognition of the results of the July 28 elections.

“There is no longer any doubt about the result, the official acts have been presented and an observer as impartial as the Carter Center has declared that Edmundo González has won,” he noted.

Finally, he warned the international community against the “pulse of autocracies.” “Maduro has China, Russia, Iran…”, he said.
