On September 10, a bilateral meeting was held between Azerbaijani Defense Minister Colonel General Zakir Hasanov and Georgian Defense Minister Irakli Chikovani.
Oku.Az reports that the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense has published information on this matter.
It was reported that at the meeting held with the participation of representatives of both countries, Irakli Chikovani greeted the guests and stressed that meetings of the heads of state play an important role in the development of relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia.
Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, expressing his satisfaction with his visit to the neighboring and brotherly country, noted that relations in the military sphere, as in many other spheres, are continuously developing.
Azerbaijani Defense Minister said that mutual visits and meetings in various formats are a clear example of the high level of cooperation between the countries.
The meeting included discussions on the prospects for military cooperation between the two countries, as well as a detailed exchange of views on increasing the intensity of joint exercises. It was stressed that the countries’ internationally accepted territorial integrity is supported.
The parties then discussed the maintenance of peace and security in the region, new prospects for cooperation in the military, military-technical, military-educational spheres and other issues of mutual interest.
