Nizhny Novgorod comedian and blogger Dmitry Gavrilov was detained in Nizhny Novgorod during his tour of Russia, the Telegram channel Baza reported.
On September 8, the comedian was scheduled to perform at the DKRT concert hall. Before the concert, the artist was detained, and by court decision he was found guilty of a crime under Article 20.3.1 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation (inciting hatred or enmity). The comedian was sentenced to 13 days of administrative arrest.
After his arrest, Gavrilov recorded a video in which he admitted his mistakes.
“In my stand-up video I allowed myself to make offensive statements directed at citizens of the Russian Federation or discrediting the Russian Armed Forces. I fully admit my mistake, I regret the words I said, I have changed my position. I hope I have not hurt anyone.” – says.
The comedian’s Russian tour recently began; he managed to perform in Izhevsk and Kazan.
Now an announcement has appeared on the artist’s official website about the cancellation of concerts not only in Nizhny Novgorod, but also in Samara, Ulyanovsk, Saratov, Volgograd, Krasnodar and Rostov-on-Don.
It is clarified that the organizers are currently “guessing new numbers”; information with the new date of the concert will be automatically sent to spectators who have purchased tickets. In total, Gavrilov plans to perform in 18 more cities in Russia.
