Azerbaijani and Turkish defence ministers discussed increasing joint exercises

Azerbaijani Defense Minister Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, who is visiting Georgia, met with Turkish Defense Minister Yasar Güler in Batumi on September 10.

Oku.Az reports that the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense has published information on this matter.

It was reported that at the meeting the Ministers of Defense noted that Azerbaijan and Turkey have a high level of cooperation and strategic partnership in the military field, as well as in all fields, and at the same time are based on friendly relations and fraternal relations.

President of Azerbaijan, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan highly appreciated the existing defense cooperation and potential opportunities between the two brotherly countries, the defense ministers noted the need for such meetings to further strengthen our relations.

The defence ministers expressed confidence that cooperation based on mutual trust and support will continue to develop successfully.

At the bilateral meeting, detailed views were exchanged on increasing the intensity of joint exercises, sharing of experience, current military-political processes in the region and the world, ways to ensure sustainable peace and stability in the region, as well as various issues of mutual interest.
