The upcoming presidential elections should complete the formation of a renewed political system in Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko announced this today, September 10, at a meeting on topical domestic political issues and preparation of political campaigns.
According to Lukashenko, much has already been done to completely update the political system of Belarus.
“In the political system of the country, the People’s Assembly of Belarus has begun to work on a new constitutional status, the main directions of its activities have been determined… But much will need to be done before the presidential elections and during the presidential elections,” – Lukashenko noted.
The Belarusian leader also responded to insinuations about the date of the next elections.

Lukashenko also warned that it will not be easy, as opponents are already trying to change the situation.

In turn, the Chairman of the Central Election Commission of Belarus, Igor Karpenko, said after the meeting that there are four possible dates for holding the presidential elections in 2025.
“According to the law, these elections must be held no later than July 20. At the same time, decisions are made by the parliamentary body – the House of Representatives of the National Assembly. After the opening of the session on September 17, we will hold a series of consultations with the deputies. I will not hide the fact that four dates have been named for possible presidential elections. But in order to express them, consultations are necessary.
