On September 10, 2024, a telephone conversation took place between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov and the newly appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrey Sibiga.
Oku.Az reports that the Press Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs published information on this matter.
It was reported that during the telephone conversation the current agenda of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Ukraine, as well as regional and international security issues were discussed.
Jeyhun Bayramov warmly congratulated his colleague on his appointment as Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and wished him success in his work.
It was stated that mutual respect and support between the two countries, as well as cooperation based on the norms and principles of international law, is a source of satisfaction.
Andrey Sibiga thanked the congratulations and expressed hope for further strengthening of the existing cooperation between Azerbaijan and Ukraine.
Azerbaijan’s humanitarian assistance in connection with the situation in Ukraine was recalled with gratitude, especially the support provided to the restoration and reconstruction of infrastructure in the city of Irpen, as well as to demining activities.
During the telephone conversation, views were also exchanged on other issues of mutual interest.
