The evidence obtained led to a search of the house where the exotic species were being trafficked.
The Civil Guard investigate two people for crimes against flora and fauna, collective security and animal abuse. During the search of a house in Roquetas de Mar, they located several protected exotic animals, which were not in adequate conditions and did not have the corresponding regulatory documentation. Additionally, these people owned three potentially dangerous dogs.
During the inspection of the house, a water monitorA pink tarantula and a California king snake. In addition, two specimens of CITES species were also found: one albino python and a boa constrictorwho did not have microchip identification or documents proving legal possession. These species benefit from special protection, which regulates international trade in wild animals and plants.

Likewise, the possession of any exotic wild specimen protected by the CITES Convention (International Convention on Trafficking in Wild Species) requires the permissions and permissions collected in national and international legislation.
