On September 10, a trilateral meeting was held between the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, the Minister of National Defense of the Republic of Turkey Yashar Guler and the Minister of Defense of Georgia Irakli Chikovani.
From the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan Oku.AzIt was said that during the meeting it was especially noted that our peoples have lived in conditions of good neighbourliness and friendship for centuries, and today mutual relations with the leaders of our Heads of State and Government are developing in an upward direction.
It was stated that cooperation based on mutual trust is of great importance to ensure the happy future and well-being of our peoples.
The trilateral meeting highlighted the importance of joint efforts to combat the challenges of the modern era, as well as factors that may threaten the security of our region, and the mutual implementation of activities in this direction.
The Ministers of Defence drew attention to the importance of expanding the scope of joint trilateral and bilateral exercises and the exchange of mutual experience.
It was noted with confidence that the development of tripartite cooperation in the field of defence will greatly contribute not only to the development of our countries, but also to the establishment of sustainable peace, stability and security in the region.
The meeting included discussions on new prospects for cooperation in the military, military-technical, military education and military medicine fields, as well as a detailed exchange of views on many issues of mutual interest.
At the end, a protocol was signed to conclude the tripartite meeting and a press conference was held for media representatives.
A tripartite agreement was signed within the framework of the 11th tripartite meeting of the Defense Ministers of Turkey, Azerbaijan and Georgia in Batumi.
