The PP proposes to the government an aid plan for Valencia with tax cuts and housing for those affected

The PP has designed a plan of 13 measures to help those affected by DANA, which it will present this afternoon to the Government so that it can incorporate them into the decree-law that the Council of Ministers plans to approve this Monday.

Among other measures, the most popular ask for allowing the available housing stock to rehouse those affected, subsidies for the renewal of vehicles (around 100,000 were lost in the floods of the Valencian Community), tax reductions and condition water infrastructure to avoid further flooding.

After the massive demonstration organized on Saturday in Valencia, the deputy secretary of the PP for Economy, Juan Bravo, admitted during a press conference that many Spaniards feel “disappointed” by the political class, because of the management by DANA.

“Valencian society is going through a very difficult time, we share its pain, many Valencians feel alone and abandoned,” said the popular leader.

However, he reaffirmed his party’s support for the President of the Generalitat, Carlos Mazón, and reaffirmed the PP’s commitment to returning to normality in the Valencian Community: “We are going to give everything”, he said. he emphasized, “we know that this is a long road, but we will be there until the end, until we have responded to every need, to every citizen and to every city.

Juan Bravo expressed his “respect” to the participants in the demonstration that took to the streets of Valencia on Saturday to demand the resignation of the President of the Generalitat.

But he condemned the violence that occurred both during this march (during which 31 police officers were injured and several radicals attempted to burn down the door of Valencia Town Hall) and during the one organized at the same time, called far-right groups, in front of the socialist headquarters on Ferraz Street in Madrid.

“Violence, confrontation and vandalism will never be the solution,” he said on this subject.

The Minister of the Presidency, Félix Bolaños, is holding a telematic meeting this afternoon (at 4:30 p.m.) with the leaders of the PP Miguel Tellado and Juan Bravo, as part of the series of contacts he has convened with the different parliamentary groups , to inform them of the royal aid decree that the Council of Ministers will approve tomorrow.

Here are some of the measures that PP leaders will ask Bolaños to incorporate in the legislative initiative:

Vehicles

The Valencia floods destroyed between 80,000 and 100,000 vehicles in the province, according to initial estimates.

The PP offers a Moves Plan with aid of up to 14,000 euros for the purchase of electric, plug-in hybrid or hydrogen cars. Added to this is a Renove Plan with aid of up to 10,000 euros for the purchase of vehicles equipped with any other technology.

It also asks the Government to subsidize 50% of the price (up to 40,000 euros) for the purchase of industrial vehicles for the self-employed and businesses.

Taxation

The plan that the PP will present this afternoon to the Government includes the interest-free deferral of the payment of personal income tax, tax reductions linked to the reconstruction of housing and the reduction of the Activities Tax Economic (IAE) for 2025. the reduction in real estate tax (IBI) for those concerned. Given that the latter is a municipal tax, the PP asks the Government to compensate the municipalities concerned for the loss of income.

Hydraulic infrastructure

The people demand that the Ministry of Ecological Transition make investments not only to clean rivers and canals, but also to avoid the risk of future flooding.
