In the afternoon an earthquake occurred in Irkutsk (Russia).
Oku.Az informs that the Baikal division of the Unified Geophysical Service of the Siberian Division of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAN) has published information in this regard.
According to the department, the earthquake occurred at 20:11 local time (16:11 Baku time – ed.). The epicenter of the earthquake was located near the town of Orlik in the Republic of Buryatia. The intensity of the perceived tremors reached 6.5 points.
Seismologists recorded tremors in and around Irkutsk. It is reported that in Irkutsk the energy class was 12.7 and the intensity was 3 points.
According to information from the General Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations for the Irkutsk region, no damage or casualties have occurred.
