Speed up deadlines disability assessment which generates so many complaints. To this end, the Minister of Social Inclusion, Youth, Family and Equality of the Council, Lolès Lopezannounced the creation of 60 structural jobs for the Assessment and Orientation Centers for People with Disabilities (CVO) in Andalusia. This is one of the measures envisaged in the reform undertaken at the beginning of the year to improve the care and services provided in these centers.
During the parliamentary commission dedicated to the field of disability, which was held this Tuesday, the councilor highlighted the results that are being produced as a result of this reform and, although she recognized that they are not yet widely visible, “they have allowed a significant reduction”for example, in the time limits for taking care of minors, just as we are already practically up to date with parking cards for people with reduced mobility.
This structural reform has as its axes, as has been explained: an increase in staff numbers, which has resulted in the creation of 60 jobs, 47 of which have already been filled in record time; an improvement in the procedure and a commitment to technological innovation. Regarding employment, he stressed the difficulty in recruiting doctors given the shortage of doctors.
In the same spirit, the advisor defended the importance of this reform to face the different vicissitudes that “historically” the assessment and guidance centers of disability (CVO).
He stressed the priority is given to the care of minors and people over 75 years old. “We did not want to implement shock plans but rather opted for a structural reform” to be able to improve and strengthen an essential service for disabled people and their families, the advisor concluded.
