The number of Ukrainians working in Poland is decreasing

According to the Polish Glavstat, there are currently several tens of thousands fewer Ukrainian workers in Poland than in the second half of last year.

According to the latest data from the Polish General Statistical Office, 958.2 thousand foreign citizens were working in Poland at the end of the first quarter of 2024. More than two-thirds of them are citizens of Ukraine. However, the Business Insider portal, which published this data, notes that the number of Ukrainian citizens working in Poland has decreased to 653.5 thousand people. The decline was 9.3%, business journalists calculated.

The decline is noticeable even compared to the end of the last calendar year. In November 2023, 702.3 thousand Ukrainians worked in Poland. In December 2023, this figure was already 658.5 thousand.

At the same time, the publication notes that, on the contrary, the number of Indian citizens working in Poland has increased. At the end of March, 18.2 thousand Indians were working in Poland, which is 5.1% more than the previous year.

The information provided applies to foreigners applying for legal employment in Poland.
