The Popular Party presented on Sunday a battery of measures that it will transfer to the Government for the reconstruction of the territories and support for people affected by DANA so that it includes them in the new package of measures that it plans to approve this Monday . in the Council of Ministers.
The deputy secretary of the PP for Economy, Juan Bravo, explained during a press conference this Sunday that the party had been working on these thirteen measures since Wednesday of last week, a day after the DANA.
The measures aim to extend the list of municipalities concerned; create a single portal for the management of DANA aid through a single window, which could be the Tax Agency; establish a vehicle renewal line, design a housing plan and an education plan.
Derived from this last plan, it is proposed to the Ministry of Education create the ‘EDUAMOS’ fund», which finances all the actions necessary for the resumption of educational activity in the centers.
Concerning vehicles, the PP proposes to broaden the aid from the MOVES Plan for electric vehiclesplug-in hybrids or hydrogen, with an amount of up to 14,000 euros per car at the time of purchase, as well as a RENOVE Plan with direct aid of up to 10,000 euros for vehicles of any technology.
In addition, it offers a new helpline for commercial vehicles up to 50% of the cost (with an aid limit of 40,000 euros for the purchase of a car of any technology), as well as assistance with vehicle repairs up to 50% of the damage.
It also provides for a social mobility rental for families with fewer resources, so that they can access a vehicle, with a monthly payment of between 50 and 150 euros for a maximum period of 3 years.
In terms of housing, he highlights immediate action to move temporarily or permanent for people affected by DANA, as well as the creation of a register of candidates for temporary or permanent resettlement.
Fiscal measures and defense infrastructure
Furthermore, the PP proposes to establish a plan mental health; regain mobility; make an exemption from the transport subscription rate in the areas concerned and create measures linked to the expenses assumed.
In terms of taxation, highlights the need to reduce or eliminate a series of taxes, such as taxes linked to the reconstruction of housingjust like the “interest-free deferral” of personal income tax or any other tax.
It also proposes to reduce the tax on economic activities corresponding to 2025 and that housing which benefits from the aid provided for in the future royal decree-law of the government, or in that already approved by the Generalitat, be exempt from paying the property tax . in the next exercise.
The PP proposes that to make these tax aids possible, the General State Administration compensates local entities for the resulting reduction in their income.
Bravo indicated that the PP defends the 100% increase in the salary paid by those affected who are sick due to extraordinary temporary incapacity, compared to the 75% provided for in the government’s royal decree-law.
In addition, the PP asks the Ministry of Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge to guarantee the necessary investments to have defense infrastructures against future flood risks, as well as the cleaning and actions necessary to recover the beds of the rivers and ravines after the passage of the DANA.
