Find out about the “low minimum” strength of the Cordoba Civil Guard

The national deputy of Sumar for Cordoba, Enrique Santiago, questioned the Government of the Nation – of which this formation is part – and, more specifically, the Ministry of the Interior, on the situation of the Civil Guard in the province, in terms of available troops and their distribution, knowing that they are “below the minimums”, as affirmed by the Unified Association of Civil Guards (AUGC).

Concretely and through the writings which were recorded last Thursday, November 7, at the Table of Congress of Deputiesaccessed by Europa Press, Santiago asks the Ministry of the Interior – led by the socialist Fernando Grande-Marlaska, “what assessment does it make of the situation of Civil Guard personnel in the province of Córdoba. How many positions are there is it currently?” below 50% of the workforce?

At the same time, Santiago wants to know “what actions will the Ministry of the Interior take to accelerate the filling of vacant positions and increase the catalog of vacant positions”. province of Córdoba, as requested by the AUGC? “, and if “the Ministry of the Interior plans to reorganize territorial deployment, regionalize posts and create the necessary units to respond to existing demands? » and “how does he plan to carry out this process?”.

In this regard, Santiago explained, in the explanatory memorandum that accompanies his questions to the Spanish government, that “the barracks of the Civil Guard of Cordoba are below minimum standards, according to the AUGC, which recently asked the intervention of the colonel head of the command, Ramón María Clemente”, to whom he addressed emphasizing that “there are posts that do not even have half the staff and can barely carry out street patrols” .

Likewise, according to Santiago, they emphasize that “the situation is even more serious in the positions of Citizen security distributed across all municipalities, because 18% of staff are not available at their post, most of them because they are integrated into other units and into the various specialized teams, to which is added long-term sick leave duration, but in a much lower percentage. »

In the said letter from the AUGC, reported by the Sumar MP, “they mention data such as that 68% of posts in the province have staff commissioned or integrated into other units, or in others where only 22 % of staff is available. model“. Added to this is the fact that the Civil Guard has “around 150 vacancies in the province and has lost five percent of its personnel in the last two years.”

Fill vacant positions and increase the catalog

For all these reasons, as the IU spokesperson added to the Congress of Deputies, the AUGC considers that it is “necessary that responsibilities be assumed in all areas”. levels“, fill vacant positions and increase the catalog of Cordoba, reorganizing the territorial deployment.

All this “will undoubtedly make it possible to reduce the personnel dedicated to administrative functions and to increase the number of patrols available on the streets of the Municipalities of Córdoba“. This is why the Sumar deputy for Córdoba asked the central government the questions already mentioned.
