The sounds of silence

“A great silence makes a great noise,” says an old African proverb. Silence can be thunderous, like the one that will reign over Afghanistan if the Taliban carry out their latest whim, that of suppressing women’s voices, a measure similar to that imposed by Mao Tse Dong when he decided to eliminate sparrows. What would the world be without its half, what would life be without birds?

As Paul Simon taught us decades ago that the sounds of silence exist, Judge Peinado, whose debates and debates have become the song of this summer, assumes that indications of Pedro Sánchez’s silences can be deduced from the famous and brief testimony he gave from the set of La Moncloa, as husband of Begoña Gómez, and not as President of the Government.
