The number of victims of a tanker accident in the Urals has risen to 10

The number of victims of the accident between a tanker and a bus in the Sverdlovsk region has risen to 10, according to Valery Gorelykh, head of the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the region.

“In total, 10 people went to the doctors for help, two of them were drivers and the rest were bus passengers.” – he told reporters.

An accident occurred at the 93rd kilometer of the Yekaterinburg-Tyumen federal highway between intercity passenger bus No. 125 on the Sukhoi Log – Bogdanovich route and a Mercedes fuel tanker. In total, about 20 passengers were on board the bus.

According to a department representative, the tanker driver has 33 years of driving experience and has been charged with traffic violations 13 times.

“During the interview, he explained to the traffic inspectors that he was supposedly blinded by the sun and therefore did not see which traffic light was on. The employees of the State Traffic Inspection drew up three administrative protocols against him for violating traffic regulations.” – he continued.
