Well, CD Toledo is still in somewhat of a crisis. It has now been three consecutive days where the Greens have not won: two draws and one defeat. The capital team remains second in the standings and, if they had beaten a good Villarrubia, they would have taken the advantage over Quintanar del Rey.
Toledo offered a splendid first half hour of award-winning football 1-0 in the 29th minute, when Tamayo converts a penalty by Álex Jiménez knocking down Luna. The visitors strongly protested against this maximum penalty to the referee. Previously, Toledo had almost scored twice. Luna saw how his superb shot from 20 meters was sent into the corner by Hélamo in the first of them, while in the second Hélamo appeared again to deflect a header from Chinchu towards a post. For his part, Villarrubia equalized with a very strong shot from Julen from the edge of the area which came off the post.
After the break, during the first game, Tamayo almost scored 2-0 in a naughty play that the foreign goalkeeper saved with great difficulty. From there, more domination of Villarrubia’s game with Toledo ready for the counter-attack. Once again, Greens managed to score thanks to a high shot from Mazzocchi. And his rival equalized thanks to Christian.
Already in the final stretch, in the 73rd minute, the equalizing goal would come on a weak rebound from the defense and the local goalkeeper who Julen took the opportunity to successfully shoot. Mazzocchi could have scored 2-1 in the next action, but the foreign goalkeeper managed to deflect it. And even though Toledo sought the heroic goal of victory, he came up against an insurmountable defensive system.
