Are Attila’s grandchildren buried in the temple of Gax?

The historical monument located in the Lakit village of Gakh is about to be destroyed.

Although the Tetrakon, a quadrangular temple with an area of 3 hectares, was built in the 6th-7th centuries, historians say that the age of this unique building is much older.

Historian Vagif Aydinov noted that in recent years the monument has become increasingly deformed and destroyed:

“The age of the monument is about two thousand years. Two investigations were carried out in the temple and it was discovered that there were places where food was stored in the form of a terrace. This temple is not inferior to Roman buildings in its grandeur and richness.”

Mahir Efendi, director of the Gakh Museum of History and Geography, said that after the death of Attila, the ruler of the Hunnic Empire, his grandsons, who were persecuted by Roman spies, probably found refuge in this temple.
