A month after turning 100, the 39th president of the United States, Jimmy Carter, was nominated for a 10th Grammy Award for his latest spoken word album, Last Sundays in Plains: A Centennial Celebration. This is Carter’s 10th nomination for the prestigious trophy.
The album includes recordings of lessons the former president taught at the Baptist Church Sunday school in Plains, Georgia.
If she wins, Carter will win her fourth Grammy Award and become not only the oldest nominee, but also the oldest winner. Previously, the record belonged to blues pianist Pinetop Perkins, who won the statuette at the age of 97.
In the “Best Audiobook and Narrative Recording” category, Karyer will compete with Barbara Streisand, Dolly Partonsinger George Clinton and producer old boy.
According to CNN, the former president’s family says he is now in hospice care, where he was admitted in February 2023. He has survived brain cancer, liver cancer and a series of health problems, including brain surgery after a fall in 2019. Carter voted for Kamala Harris by certificate of absence.
