In Kyrgyzstan, near the town of Balykchy on the shore of Lake Issyk-Kul, the active phase of the CSTO command post exercises “Interaction” is taking place, as well as the special exercises “Search” and “Echelon”, Sputnik Kyrgyzstan reports.
The exercises involve the military of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan, as well as representatives of the CSTO secretariat and joint headquarters.
In total, more than 1,500 soldiers and more than 200 units of military equipment are involved, including about 10 aircraft and the same number of vessels. In particular, Mi-8, Mi-8 MTV, Mi-17 V-5 helicopters, An-26, Su-30 SM aircraft, T-72 and BMP-2 tanks, as well as reconnaissance and attack UAVs.
The exercises are being monitored by representatives of the CSTO countries and the diplomatic corps.
