The man visited all the countries of the world and told what he understood about life.

American traveler Indy Nelson has become a Guinness Book of Records holder, having visited every country in the world and used the services of 170 airlines – more than anyone before him. His 18-month trip around the world began in 2017, when Indy was just 22 years old. Nelson came up with the idea of visiting every country in the world after a trip to North Korea, which he called “a really cool country.”

To make his dream a reality, Nelson took out a loan for $80,000 and hit the road. His journey was filled with adventure, visiting both tourist spots and active war zones. He was arrested four times on suspicion of espionage in Iran, Libya, Papua New Guinea and Russia.

He was most impressed by Cambodia, with its rich cultural heritage and friendly local population. But his least favourite of all were the Comoros Islands off the south-east coast of Africa.

Nelson shared that such trips change a person’s worldview and personality, encouraging them to step out of their comfort zone. He recommends taking long-term trips to countries like India, Cambodia or Central Asia to really change your perception of the world.

Initially, Nelson did not plan to set a world record, and learned of his achievement only when he returned to the United States.
