Washington – Assistant to the President of the United States (USA) Donald Trump, Steve Witkoff, hinted that the ceasefire of Gaza was close. He said that Washington hoped that the agreement would be completed this weekend.

“We are at close distances, and we have four problems, and now only one after two days of negotiations on close distances,” told reporters in the White House in the White House (7/7/2025).

He explained: “So, we hope that this weekend we will reach an agreement that will lead us to the termination of fire for 60 days.”

Vitcoff said that the agreement would include the release of 10 Israeli prisoners and nine bodies.

He added: “The Trump government believes that the agreement will lead to the eternal world in Gaza.”

Earlier on Tuesday, the prime minister of Israeli Benjamin Netanyahu told reporters in Washington, the district of Colombia that “although Israel still should complete the work in Gaza, the negotiator should work on the ceasefire.”

Trump and Netanyahu had dinner together on Monday in the White House during the visit of three Israeli leaders in the United States since Trump began his second term on January 20.
