The European Court of Justice in Luxembourg has rejected claims by businessmen Gennady Timchenko and his wife Elena Timchenko, Mikhail Fridman, Petr Aven and German Khan against EU Council decisions requiring Russian businessmen to declare their financial resources in EU countries as part of sanctions imposed over the conflict in Ukraine, TASS reports.
The court thus upheld the EU Council’s decision that all of them are obliged to declare their financial resources and cooperate with the competent national authorities of the EU countries. The EU Court also rejected the claims of the businessman’s wife. Alexey Mordashov Marina and entrepreneur Musa Bazhaev demanding the lifting of EU sanctions.
